The drainage liquid is sucked in with the pump and passed through the Drenchsonde into the cow's rumen. The "Drenchen" increases the welfare of the cow; Dehydration of "empty" cows, e.g. after calving, is prevented by the absorption of water. Cows have approximately 50-80 liters of warm water, possibly with the addition of energy or mineral sources (consult the veterinarian beforehand), pumped into the rumen.
